 June 2011

At Graham's earlier request, on the 5th June we carried out a bow tuning exercise with Jean Graham, Sharon and Mark.  Whilst Jean and Graham did their tuning, Sharon and Mark shot a Warwick Round.  They are not shown in the photos because by that time, due to rain, I had put my camera away.

The second test target shows how much Jean's arrows moved from the righthand side to mainly within the tramlines and Graham's first arrows were slightly to the left within the tramlines but finished practically along the centre line.  The important part of the exercise was not just for tuning the equipment but also to give members knowledge of the procedure so that they could carry out a similar tuning exercise should the need arise in the future.

One of the arrow finders would not work after a new battery had been put in.  It was the one that had been broken recently when it must have fallen off the trolley.  It would be preferable if we can all make sure that we carry the arrow finders by hand to and from the field.  Mark has kindly taken this home to see if he can mend it.  The current cost of these arrow finders is £105 each and they are an essential item, especially when time is short for finding arrows.  We have a boxed spare but this is kept for an absolute emergency if the other two arrows finders are not working.  Hence my request , do please carry the arrow finders by hand - don't put them on the trolley!
