Below are two slideshows; the first showing photographs taken during the 2011 Lagny Shoot and the second showing photos of past LAGNY shoots. I have also included a potted history of how the LAGNY shoot originated.
In the current year's slideshow, there will be no prizes for guessing the rogue photo that found its way into this Lagny selection!
Lagny Handicap Shoot 2011
Here follows a slideshow of the "Lagny Past" Shoot. However, perhaps I should explain a little about the shoot (particularly for any non-members who may view these photos). 26 years ago (in 1985), Muriel and Derek Collier and Tom and I booked in at a Tournament at a place in France called Lagny (near Paris). We were presented with a very nice trophy (not for winning, I might add, but for attending). We donated this trophy to the club and ever since then we have shot a leisurely Short Metric round, taking an even more leisurely break for lunch, during which (in deference to the French club) we have French bread, cheese, pate, salad and French wine. We also wear blue and/or white clothing (the French archery colours - at the time anyway). When we first started this shoot we even tried scoring in French language but soon gave that up! Perhaps I should offer an explanation for Claire Stanford's clothing! This was her first attendance at our LAGNY shoot and her late husband, Doug, did not quite explain what we meant by French colours (clothing) and she turned up dressed in a really nice "French Tart" outfit! She looked really attractive but never wore it again! She said she did get a few "looks" when travelling in the car like this.
Here goes then ..........
The 1st slide show was taken by the late Doug Stanford, going back to the eighties at our ground belonging to Queen Mary & Westfield College at Little Dytchleys, Pilgrim's Hatch, Brentwood. Included are some photos taken during the nineties at our Theydon Bois ground which was behind Theydon Bois Railway Station. Nothing has changed over the years in respect of our liking for food!
